Make a statement and send unique wedding invitations in a bottle!
One of the most unique ways to not only invite, but excite your guests to come to your event is to send them your invitation in a bottle. The expense of the bottle, packaging, and postage can be offset with the cost of a do it yourself paper scroll inserted into the bottle, rather than purchased invitations, thus alleviating the needed for inside and outside envelopes and printing costs. You can also use a postcard response card, saving on return postage or you could have regular response cards made a
nd traditional postage placed in the box. These are placed inside the box on top of the bottle.
Saving tip: Start have friends and family save those wine bottles. It will save you the expense of purchasing them. There are some really nice wine bottles that will be spectacular! Then all you have to buy is the cork, and box.
I did this with my own daughter’s wedding and everyone talked about it for months. The bottle can have other items added to it to foster intrigue about the ceremony and reception and blend with your theme. For instance we used Easter grass-pearl colored inside the bottle for an added touch of elegance. The final cost as compared to traditional printed invitations was only $90 more for 120 invitations, but this was because we purchased the bottles online.
The intent was to add to the mystique of receiving a package rather than an envelope, and we placed a higher priority on the presentation of the invitation, and were able to save in other areas by doing all of the planning and decorating ourselves.
