Wedding - Centerpiece - Decorations - Watering Can
Use this as a wedding centerpiece and decoration. This handy little watering can be used for a number of things and lends itself beautifully to a
centerpiece for guest tables or serving tables. If the can is large enough even the ceremony will look beautiful with a spray of flowers tucked inside the can on each side of the alter or arch. It also lends itself to a variety of wedding themes. They are cute and fairly cheap. They can be used as the theme piece for your wedding or just as a decoration. You can gather them in many styles, sizes, and colors.Try gathering some old ones; paint a picture on the sides if you are artistic. Decorate them with flowers, tulle or ribbon and put flowers in them for the centerpiece. You can even place a candle in them adding elegance.

FRESH FLOWER DIRECTIONS
These will have to be done the morning of the wedding if certain fresh flowers are used that wilt fast.Typically they can be done the day before.Just don’t fill container too full with water or they will spill on transport.

- Place a water holding foam piece inside the container
- Using tulle or ribbon, tie a bow around the handle.
- Fill with water.(ONLY a bit for now, you can add more later)
- Cut stems of desired flowers and arrange in the foam.If using as a centerpiece on guest tables the flowers must be arranged so that all sides look nice.If using as a display basket for a table or during the service, only one side is visible, then you only need to worry about one side “the front view”.See pictures for ideas.
SILK FLOWERS
- Place Styrofoam piece inside the container. Cut styrofoam with knife as shown to fit container.
- Using tulle or ribbon, tie a bow around the handle.
- Cut wire stems according to height desired.Vary heights, so they will look natural.Use a variety of flowers and colors, large, medium, small, and filler. Use color and flower types according to your wedding theme.Don’t be afraid to use various types and mix colors. All flowers are beautiful!
- Arrange the flowers using the largest flower first in the back.(one sided) Since there are no height restrictions on a centerpiece and they are only one sided for view you will work only from one side (the front)
- Then place the medium flowers, pushing them into the foam so they are slightly lower than the large center flower. They do not all have to be facing front. Natural flowers tip slightly and somtimes only a side view is more natural looking.
- Place medium to small flowers mixing between larger flowers.
- Place small smaller flowers that hang down, this looks very natural.
- Lastly, place filler like tiny baby’s breath to fill in empty spaces.

If placing a candle in the arrangment, use a plastic candle holder to press into the styrofoam. These can be found at your local craft store and hold the candle in place much better than just pressing into foam.
In the piece to the right I used, pink lillies, apple blossoms, wysteria, roses, and hyrandgea, as well as a bit of baby’s breath for filler. For the handle I used tulle instead of ribbon.
Suggestion - Us small cans as favors, place them around the centerpiece for a dramatic affect.
