Wedding Favors - Charity
Wedding favors for charity is an excellent idea. This type of donation along with a small note, really pleases guests. The donation can be to any favorite worthy cause. Cancer or heart society, children's fund, etc.
This is done simply and economically and sends a wonderful message to your guests that they will be very pleased with, rather than taking home something they may not be able to use, or rather worry about displaying the next time you come over.
I recently attended a wedding that made a donation to the breast cancer society instead of purchasing gifts for their guests. This was such a wonderful and unique way to say thank you. It also reminded the guests that the couple was thoughtful, kind, and giving.
What this couple did was bake and wrap cookies in the shape of a heart wrapped with a pink ribbon. The tag that was attached had a note stating that rather than giving favors they decided to make a contribution to the breast cancer society in memory of ....
I was so touched by this gesture that I just had to share it here as the most altrusitic gesture that I have seen in sometime. Consider giving to a charity and make something homemade instead, with a tag attached stating where you made your contribution. Your donation doesn't have to be a large amount, but something reasonable. So do a "favor" for yourself and your guests and most importantly for others that will benefit by your gesture, and consider this option.
