Invitation wording examples are listed below. Please note that there are many alternatives and word variances. I have categorized the wording by types. Within these types there could be dozens of re-worded versions. The most important item to remember when wording your invitation regardless of who is doing the inviting is that there is a standard for spelling out words in full, including the date. Also the the order of displaying the information.
The top portion of the invitation always includes who is doing the inviting. There may be additional poetic wording joined to this, but typically is states "Request the honor of your prescence or the pleasure of your company at the marriage of ...
The second portion includes the bride and groom names. Next is the date, then time, and then location. The address of the location immediately follows the location.
If the couple has already been married and a celebration follows later with a re-affirmation of vows and a reception, or even an anniversary invitation the wording of location can be after the introduction.
