When planning your wedding, careful thought must be given to how the event will be recorded. As time passes memories fade and having pictures will bring back those memories and keep them vivid in your minds eye. This is one of the biggest events in your lifetime, and we are quite confident that you will want some type of photography whether it is formal or informal.

There are many things to think about when considering your photographer. How much can your afford? What is in your budget for a wedding photographer? How much priority are you giving to the photos? Are you thinking of having a professional or Uncle Harry?

 

The types of pictures to be taken are also equally important. Are you a traditionalist or want some newer more modern type photographs? All of these things must be answered before you begin your pursuit of a photographer. Today's photographers are artists and should have numerous portfolios of their work to share with you. How will you choose your photographer or find a photographer?

Some of the businesses and photographers are better than others in this area. You will need to set aside some time to begin your search by asking friends, and making appointments to view their work. Oh yes, and to see if they have your date available.

One of the best ways to begin is to do an online search in your area for potential photographers and then begin narrowing the list based on viewing their "online" work. If they have a pricing list check to see if this is within your budget. If they do not and the pictures seem to fit with your style, then you may want to call and setup an appointment. Don't settle for just one photographer meeting. Meet with several to get a feel for their work. Also make sure you are speaking with the actual photographer and not a sales person "in-office". It is very important that you have a feel for the personality and get along well with the person who will be taking the photos all day at your wedding. Remember... they will be in your face all day and pretty much telling you when to pose and when to not look like you’re posing! "Smile"! They will need to be experienced, patient, and have a good sense of humor.
