Wedding Table Decorations

Wedding table decorations are unlimited based on materials you have avwedding-topiary-ivy-table-setupailable. Decorations also are dependant upon the type of table you are using. Round 8' or 6' tables, 8' rectangular, or 8' or 6' squares. All will require a table covering.

TABLE COVERINGS -

Linens may be provided by your reception or banquet hall, but if you are doing your own wedding at a gun club, firehall, townhall, or at home you will need to think about how you will cover them. Tablecloths will be expensive.

The simplest way to cover a table without the added expense of purchasing tablecloths, is to wait for a sale at your local fabric store and then buy the fabric. Simple quilters cotton or polyester will do just fine. The amount of fabric you will need depends on the size and how many table you need to cover. Just remember when purchasing fabric, it generally runs about 45" wide which is fine for rectagular tables but you may need to sew a seam or use two lengths in the opposite direction for a round. If you have good scissors, you won't even need to sew a hem. The drape is fine with a clean cut and fabric that doesn't fray.

The nice thing about buying your own fabric is that you can pick any type and color you like. While white/ivory are the traditional colors, other colors are equally striking.

One of the most difficult to decorate I hear from brides, is decorating the long rectagular 8' tables. Here is a suggestion and pictures for ideas.

1. I used a piece of cheap cotton white fabric as the covering. I then placed a piece of ivy down the center with two candles on either side. The candle stick holders I was able to buy for $1.00 at the local dollar store, and the ivy was a strand purchased at a local craft store. Depending upon the length of your long tables, you can get 2-3 tables from one strand.

2. In the center I placed a homemade topiary of roses. (Wedding topiary instructions click here)
